With the proposed installation of high-speed rail in the Northeast Corridor, operational in 2040, train travel from New York City to Washington will be reduced from a 2-hour-45-minute Acela trip to 94-minute jaunt.

With the proposed installation of high-speed rail in the Northeast Corridor, operational in 2040, train travel from New York City to Washington will be reduced from a 2-hour-45-minute Acela trip to 94-minute jaunt.

"I think that basically what it comes down to is, the government doesn’t seem to be investing very much in public transportation these days. So I think that it’s up to private providers of transportation, such as Rockabus, to pick up the slack."

Sam Morrill, who co-founded the Rockabus, which offers a ride from Williamsburg to the Rockaways, with Ryan Hefner, a Williamsburg-based surfer and web designer.
