Organized by Polly Bresnick and Amanda Bullock, the ambitious event begins November 16 at WORD bookstore in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, with a pre-marathon presentation of “Etymology” and “Extracts,” followed by the ceremonial reading of that legendary first sentence: “Call me Ishmael.” On November 17, the marathon reading continues at Housing Works Bookstore Cafe in SoHo before moving back to Brooklyn and Molasses Books in Bushwick for the evening.
